Chittoor

Tirupati
Tirupati is located in Andhra Pradesh, India. Tirupati is an ancient Hindu temple town having historical references in Puranas. The temple of Lord Venkateswara is located on the Tirumala hill and Tirupati is at the foot steps of the Tirumala hills.
The newly created "Greater Tirupati" covers a large area with a population of over 10 lakhs, covering geographical area from Srikalahasti in the north to Puttur in the south, which is about 1400 km.Tirupati has one international airport, and is head quarters to six universities.

Chandragiri Fort
Chandragiri is famous for the historical fort, built in the 11th century, and the Raja Mahal (Palace) within it.The fort encircles eight ruined temples of saivite and vaishnavite pantheons, Raja Mahal, Rani Mahal and other ruined structures.The Raja Mahal Palace (shown in picture) is now an archeological museum. The palace is three storeyed, is an example of Indo-Sarcen architecture of Vijayanagar period. The crowning towers represents the hindu architectural elements. The palace was constructed using stone, brick, lime mortar and devoid of timber.

Sri Kalahasti temple
SriKalahasti temple is located 36 km away from Tirupathi in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradhesh, India. The inner temple is constructed around 5th century and the outer temple was constructed in the 12th Century.

Talakona Waterfalls
Talakona Waterfalls is 40 km from Tirupati. This waterfall is considered as the entrance to the hills of Tirumala on which the shrine of Lord Venkateshwara is located. This 270 ft cascade is a perennial one and famous for its medicinal effects. November to January is the best season to visit.
